    Modeled after the midwifery care provided by her great-great grandmother Ma’Belle.

    The Birth Cottage is where families & individuals are supported in traditional midwifery care. Centering Southern African American, and South African midwifery traditions. Including herbal consultations from our apothecary.

  • The Traditional Midwifery Freedom Path

    The Traditional Midwifery Freedom Path provides culturally-affirming traditional midwifery education, midwifery equipment, culturally affirming attire stipend, traditional midwifery textbooks, monthly stipend and paid rest. Removing obvious barriers while caring for learning midwives, who then care for the Central Virginia birthing community. 

    Gather Grounded Midwifery along with the support of local Black midwives, will support three learning midwives through 2024 -2025 in their traditional midwifery education & prioritizing rest.

  • Fertility Consultation & Planning

    Support with fertility testing, individualized herbal blends / remedies, cycle tracking, sperm bank referrals, establishing fertile timing for conception / insemination.

  • Well Person

    Physical exam, breast / chest exam, pap, STD/STI screening/testing, cancer screening, natural birth planning, sexual health education.

    Inclusive nonbinary & transgender reproductive health care.
